BEST BUD
Four years in the making, Best Bud in a way ended a chapter for me. It's bitter sweet to look back at this project, but I adore the work. Firstly, the project is about friendship. Director Annabelle Santino and I had been creating films together since freshman year of college. And this director/PD relationship is the stuff of dreams. Full trust.
This trust was necessary for me to carry out the color symbolism and aesthetic in the film. I needed her trust to know exactly what the characters were thinking and what they would be doing to build out every little detail.
Building this world was a true delight as it was simply a world of friendship. A world of young women experiencing life in their prime. Much like we were.
